Grand Rapids Press, Letter to the Editor
Sunday, October 17th
As a recent college graduate, I know how important education is for West Michigan and America’s future. Unfortunately, I know how expensive a college education can be. While in my sophomore year at Michigan State, I was extremely disappointed when the Michigan Promise Scholarship was no longer promised by the state. I believe in the future of West Michigan through education and that is why I am voting for David LaGrand on Nov. 2.
David is not only committed to restoring funds to elementary and secondary education by stopping tax cuts in Lansing, he wants the taxpayer dollars to go to our children and not the schools’ administration. He has also promised to work at bringing back the Michigan Promise, and I believe this will not only help West Michigan but the state. That is the type of person we need in Lansing.
David understand what college students and recent graduates are facing in this rough economic time and that is why he is dedicated to protecting and supporting every student’s education. Vote LaGrand on Nov. 2.
